About The Position
We are looking for a C++ developer to join one of our key teams. The main focus of the work involves developing the simulation and communication layers, with occasional work on rendering within our internal engine and supporting applications. More specifically, tasks may include: integration of new communication protocols; work on navigation data for simulated entities and their movement simulation; combat AI; advanced vehicle and building damage models; ballistics improvements; work on the audio system; optimization of multithreaded computations; physics support on very large areas, and many other tasks.
You can look forward to working with professionals who have enjoyed what they do for many years, and the opportunity to create the "new worlds" of our simulations. If you are interested in Unreal (or other engines), you definitely won’t get bored, as we are constantly exploring new possibilities and innovations.
Bagira is a Czech-Israeli company and a leader in training and simulation systems, with years of experience delivering cutting-edge, efficient mission-readiness solutions tailored precisely to customer requirements. Bagira simulators are used for training hundreds of thousands of soldiers across more than 40 locations worldwide. Approximately half of the more than 140 colleagues in our Brno R&D center are dedicated to SW development. We build many things in-house—from core simulations and the rendering engine to evaluation SW. In addition to WPF teams, we have an IG (Image Generator) Team focused on simulation logic, computational models, and audio—primarily in C++, but also in C# and Lua. 2D/3D modelers work with an internal graphics engine, 3ds Max, or Blender, and we also have dedicated test and integration teams. We use MS Azure DevOps for reporting and as our repository; project work is divided into TaskForces and run in 2-week sprints.
Projects you will be able to take part in (among others):
- Visualization for a UAV simulator and its sensors (500x500 km terrain, 800 million trees, hundreds of thousands of unique buildings and static objects such as cars, train cars, ships, antennas, thousands of city traffic vehicles, trains, and up to hundreds of thousands of deterministic pedestrians, …)
- Simulator for Forward Air Controller (FAC) and Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) training (up to 200,000 unique destructible buildings in a single terrain, dome projection, HW replicas of observation devices, …)
- Training simulator for a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense center (physics-based dispersion of various gas types, radiation simulation, …)
Your mission:
- Development and innovation of individual products, components, entities, libraries, …
- Collaboration on system architecture development
- Close cooperation with other teams (SW, QA, HW, ...) in the Czech Republic and Israel
- Continuous development and education in SW development and simulation technologies
What we are looking for:
- Min. 3 years of experience in C++ (but we have plenty to engage a senior developer as well ;-))
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreaded programming, …
- Advantage – experience with graphics, data visualization, rendering, knowledge of linear algebra
- Fluent English
- Welcomed experience with the development of similar systems (simulations, game development, real-time systems, robotics, ...)
What we can offer:
- Work on the development of exceptional products
- Direct collaboration with other development teams
- 5 weeks of vacation plus up to 5 additional days off
- Meal voucher allowance
- Flexible working hours, occasional home office option
- Team activity budget, discounted mobile plans for you and your close (or distant :-)) relatives
- and much more 🙂
